MOU signing between Thammasat University and Hokkaido University and Honorary Lecture

18 September 2019- Thammasat University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hokkaido University. Rector Gasinee Witoonchart and Prof. Emeritus Hiroshi KIDA, Head and Specially Invited Professor of Research Center for Zoonosis Control presided over the ceremony. We have Vice Rector for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitti Prasirtsuk, Dean Sasitorn Taptagaporn, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Norikaza ISODA, and executives from the Faculty of Public Health, were gathering in this event. In the afternoon, there was also Honorary Lecture “Are we prepared for pandemic influenza?” delivered by Prof. Emeritus Hiroshi KIDA and Special Lecture “Seasonal influenza evolution and antigenic drift” delivered by Prof. Dr. Prasert Auewarakul, Faculty of Medicine, Mahidol University. The activities represent a part of the celebration on the occasion of the 85th Anniversary of Thammasat University. The whole event was moderated by Dr. Twisuk Punpeng, Deputy Dean for Administrative Affairs, Faculty of Public Health. There was a signing ceremony of the cotutelle agreement at the faculty level in Ph.D. programs in the next two days.

The MOU signing ceremony between Thammasat University and Northern Illinois University, USA

1 July 2019 – Rector Gasinee Witoonchart along with Vice Rector Kitti Prasirtsuk, Dean Decha Sungkawan and executives from College of Interdisciplinary Studies and Dr. Chaiwat Meesanthan, Associate Dean for International Affairs, Faculty of Liberal Arts, met with Dr. Lisa freeman, President of Northern Illinois University (NIU), and executives in the MOU signing ceremony between the two Institutions. Under this collaboration, Thammasat University and NIU will build 3+2 program such as local government program between College of Interdisciplinary Studies and School of Public and Global Affairs and Hybrid course in both online and in class room that students will receive twining degree certificate. Besides, Thammasat University is pleased to be Center for cooperation between NIU and Universities in Myanmar and Laos to joint academic activities.
